July Meeting – Sharpening Your Turning Tools

Dave presented his approach to sharpening his turning tools and the techniques he uses for the various types of tools we all use.

Gouges, skew chisels, scrapers and parting tools, Dave covered most of the tools we all use each time we turn.

The Sorby Pro Edge comes with a number of rests and jigs to cover all of the various tool types Dave sharpened during this demo. It was amazing to see how quickly and reliably Dave could get a repeatable grind with setup.

After this presentation Dave was available to discuss how he uses his Sorby Pro Edge to sharpen his tools and to help members that wanted to sharpen their tool on his setup.

Lynette was there with her wet grinder to discuss how she uses this type of system to sharpen her tools.
